Santa Pola Town Hall have secured investment to carry out greatly needed maintenance work on the bridge at the entrance to Gran Alacant.

The 532,436 Euros budget was unanimously approved earlier this week at Santa Pola Town Hall to fund the much needed work. In June last year Santa Pola Town Hall agreed to conduct a study into the costs and the budget is 60,000 Euros less than the original estimate.

Work is due to start after Gran Alacant’s main tourist season has ended in September. According to the Local Councillor for Works, Loreto Serrano, “The work is expected in the autumn, once traffic has dropped”, as to begin the work on the bridge to Gran Alacant before that would be of “maximum inconvenience”.
