OK, so you understand the cabin bag sizes of your chosen airline, but what are you allowed to pack in your carry on luggage when you fly to Spain?

Some items are obvious, others are slightly more confusing. So here are all the answers you need as to what you can and can’t take on your plane to Spain in your hand luggage.

Generally, medicines and pills are allowed in the cabin, including syrups and medicines in liquid form as long as they do not make more than 100ml. If you need more, you must notify your airline in advance. For oxygen or air for medical use, this will depend on your airline.

Allowed In Cabin Baggage To Spain – Liquid Restrictions

According to the official rules from the UK Government on airline cabin baggage, the following liquids are restricted:
• All drinks – including water
• Liquid or semi-liquid foods – including soup, jam, honey and syrups
• Cosmetics and toiletries – including creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara and lip gloss
• Sprays including shaving foam, hairspray and spray deodorants
• Pastes including toothpaste
• Gels including hair and shower gel
• Contact lens solution – including other solutions and items of similar consistency

Rules On Restricted Liquids

• You must take no more than 100ml of any of these liquids on a flight
• Liquids must be placed into individual 100ml containers – larger containers, even if only partly full, are not usually accepted at security
• All 100ml containers must fit into a clear, plastic bag no bigger than 20cm x 20cm
• 1 bag per passenger.
• The bag has to be able to close and be sealed – overstuffed plastic bags will not be accepted
• The maximum amount of liquid in total that you can carry onto a flight is 1 litre
• Bags must be shown at airport security

DUTY FREE

If you purchase alcohol, perfume or any other liquids at the airport duty-free stores or on the plane itself, they are allowed in your carry-on luggage, even if over 100ml. Items must be unopened and sealed in a airport security bag with a visible receipt.
