On the 12th July 2013, the official state bulletin was issued, stating the main airport serving the Costa Blanca has been changed from Alicante-El Altet airport to Alicante-Elche airport.

As reported here in April this year, the renaming of Alicante-Elche airport has been an on-going process since October 2012. So when booking your holiday rental accommodation in Gran Alacant, you now need to search for Alicante-Elche airport!
