AENA, the Spanish airport authority, who are responsible for Alicante Elche airport, have said that they have received an increase of 15% for flight slots for Summer 2012, including new airlines offering flights to 14 out of the 15 destinations that Ryanair’s withdrawal would have affected.

At the time of writing, Ryanair had not officially replied to either the latest court ruling, or to AENA´s suggestion to allow Ryanair to use autobus connections to Alicante Elche’s terminal building, however it is thought that Ryanair are planning in March 2012 to restore some of their previously withdrawn routes as on Ryanair’s website there are currently flights between Alicante Elche and other previously withdrawn destinations such as Cork, Kerry, Knock and Bournemouth.
Vueling At Alicante Elche Airport
The Spanish low cost carrier Vueling has announced a new flight route to Alicante from Cardiff. The flights will begin in June and will fly 3 times a week to Alicante.
WOWair Flying To Alicante Elche Airport
In addition, from April, the Icelandic airline WOWair will be offering two new weekly flights from Reykjavik to Alicante.
Edelweiss Air And Air Berlin At Alicante Elche Airport
Edelweiss Air will be launching flights to Alicante from Zurich and Air Berlin will be operating a direct flight from Nuremberg to Alicante, in addition to those flights to Alicante from Munich, Berlin and Hamburg.
Jet2.com, Easjet And BmiBaby Flights To Alicante Elche Airport
Jet2.com will start a new route with flights from Edinburgh to Alicante Elche plus increasing flight frequencies to Newcastle, Belfast and East Midlands from Alicante. Easyjet will add a new route to Alicante from London Southend and Bmibaby will begin flights from Belfast City to Alicante Elche airport.
Flights From Russia To Alicante Elche
The Russian holiday market to Alicante will also grow this year, with two regular daily direct flights from Moscow to Alicante beginning in June 2012 operated by Siberia Airlines, plus Aeroflot who will begin a direct route to Alicante from Sheremetyevo. Also there will be a weekly charter flight to Alicante from St. Petersburg beginning in April 2012.
Flights From Sweden To Alicante Elche
Holidaymakers to Alicante from Sweden will also benefit with Scandinavian Airlines flights to Alicante from Stockholm beginning in June 2012.
Flights From Norway To Alicante Elche Airport
Norwegians wanting to holiday in Alicante and perhaps rent a holiday villa with Alicante Holiday Villas will also benefit with the new destination of Alesund, plus more flights to Alicante from Oslo.

Norwegian Airlines will be operating additional flights to Alicante from Helsinki in Finland and Air Berlin are increasing their flights to Alicante from Charleroi in Belgium.
