What is happening in Alicante for Christmas 2015?
1ST DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
In the Paseo Frederico Soto in Alicante there is a Christmas Craft Market. Open every day from 10.00-15.00 and 17.00-23.00 until 6th January 2016.
3RD DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
In the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (Town Hall Square) in Alicante there is the traditional ice rink and Christmas Market being held from 10.00-14.00 and 16.00-22.00 every day until 6th January 2016.
Also starting on 3rd December in the Plaza de la Montaneta there will be for the first time a gigantic mountain and downhill sledding slope! Great fun for all the family! Again, it will be open 10.00-14.00 and 16.00-22.00 every day until 6th January 2016.
4TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
In the Parque de la Ereta by the famous Santa Barbara Castle in Alicante at 16.00 Santa Claus’ House will be open to the public where you can visit Santa and his elves. From then it will be open Friday afternoons and Saturday and Sunday from 12.00-20.00 until December 18th, and from December 19th it will be open every day until Christmas Eve morning. There is also a wishing well for the children to post their wish list to Santa.
Also on 4th December, the Municipal Belen will be opened at 19.00 in the Plaza de Calvo Sotelo. This beautiful Nativity Scene is well worth visiting if you are in Alicante during this time.
5TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
At 20.00 in the Cathedral de San Nicolas, there is a concert in honour of the co-patron saint of Alicante San Nicolas de Bari.
6TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
At 11.00 in the same Cathedral, there is a solemn Christmas mass and at 12.00 there is the start of a religious procession through the main streets of Alicante from the Cathedral, and at 18.00 there is a grand Moors and Christians parade also through the Alicante streets. Again, that will be something to definitely see if you are in Alicante.
11TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
At 20.30 there is a Christmas concert being held in the Cathedral de San Nicolas.
17TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
In the Plaza de Seneca in Alicante (the old bus station) between 11.00-14.00 and 17.00-21.00 there will be different attractions for all the family which will continue until 6th January 2016.
18TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
In the Plaza de Gabriel Miro there will be a Christmas Craft Market with children’s activities, nativity scenes and animals which will continue until 21st December 2015.
26TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
At 12.00 a massive fireworks display for Christmas .
27TH DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
Massive burning of the Christmas statues – reminiscent of the Alicante Hogueras festival in June!
31ST DECEMBER 2015 – ALICANTE
The massive Alicante New Year Eve Party in the Town Hall square.
