There is absolutely loads going on in Alicante during the run-up to Christmas! Fairs, markets, medieval markets, craft stalls, Ice Skating, Tobogganing, Nativity Scenes and even Santa’s House!
There are lots of exciting things to do and see in the city of Alicante during Christmas 2018/19. You can visit Santa’s Grotto, skate on the temporary ice rink, try the toboggan run, celebrate News Years Eve, visit the nativity scenes or enjoy a festive market! Here are some of the main attractions :
Christmas Lights Switch On
Friday 30th November at 19:30 the Christmas Lights will be turned on in the Plaza Ayuntamiento
Christmas Craft Market
The Christmas Market will be located in Paseo Federico Soto. The stalls will be open everyday from the 1st December until the 5th January, except Christmas Day and New Years Day. They will be selling a selection of goodies but mainly figurines for nativity displays.
Everyday December 1st – January 5th 10:00-15:00 and 17:00-23:00
Closed on December 25th and January 1st
Christmas Nativity Market
There will be some amazing stalls in the Edificio Seneca in the Plaza Seneca from Friday 14th to Friday 23rd December.
Opening times 11:00 until 19:00
Nativity Scenes
The Municipal Belen is situated beside the Town Hall (ayuntamiento) from the 30th November to the 6th January.
Opening times Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, Saturday 09:00-13:00 & 18:00-20:00, Sunday 09:00-13:00
Casa de Santa Claus
You can visit the house of Santa Claus in the Panteon de Quijano where it will snow everyday!
Opening times 1st to the 24th December, Mondays – Thursdays 10:00 – 14:00 & 17:00 – 22:00, Fridays – Sundays 10.0 – 14.00 and 17.00 – 24.00
Ice Skating & Toboggan Run
The temporary 390m2 ice skating rink and the toboggan run is located in the Plaza del Toros from the 1st December to the 6th January.
Opening times 10:00 to 22:00 (24th & 31st December 10.00 – 15.00) and 25th December and 1st January 10.00 – 16.00
New Years Eve
