Flights during the school holidays are notoriously expensive, but you can save money on flights to Alicante with these tips.
1. Use Flight Comparison Sites
Although it’s very tempting to go straight to budget airline websites, sometimes you can get a better deal on comparison sites such as SkyScanner or Opodo and if you are slightly more flexible with times you can probably get a cheaper flight on a better airline.
2. Use An Incognito Google Window
When browsing for flights online, make sure you use an incognito window – as many travel sites have cookies which allows them to track how many times you’ve looked at a certain flight and then inflate the price if they think you’re interested. Beat this by going to Google and then clicking the drop down menu on the right and clicking “new incognito”.
3. Wait Until The End Of The Summer
If you have to book flights in the summer holidays, wait until the very end of August and beginning of September to take advantage of lower flight prices. October half term is a great time to book a holiday too and could save you up to 25% over peak season prices.
4. Be Flexible With Dates

London Gatwick – Alicante £158.42 per person
London Gatwick – Madrid £47.32 per person
A saving of £111.10 per person – which means a total saving of £444.40 for a family of four!
