The San Anton Fiesta in Alicante is when all the animals of the city are blessed. In 2016, this will take place from the 16th to the 24th January.
San Anton Fiesta Blessing Of Animals
This popular fiesta in Alicante, which is attended by some 4,000 people annually includes a Medieval Market, processions and obviously the ceremony to bless the animals in the Plaza de Toros in Alicante. Most of the animals brought to be blessed are dogs, but Alicante residents also bring their cats, rabbits, turtles, rodents, birds and even snails!

The route of the parade is: Plaza Hospital Viejo, Plaza Santa Teresa, Calle Diaz Moreu, Calle Empecinado, Calle Trafalgar, Plaza Misericordia, Calle La Cuesta, Calle Sevilla, Calle San Carlos, Calle Valencia, Plaza Hospital Viejo.
