The 15 deck Royal Caribbean Independence of the Seas which can house 4,370 passengers plus crew of 1,360.

Sonia Castedo, Alicante’s Mayoress, said that the ship’s arrival shows how Alicante is excelling in cruise tourism and spoke of the important economic impact these thousands of tourists will have on Alicante. In addition, the President of the Port Authority in Alicante, Miguel Campoy, gave information of the new mobile phone application offered which gives the passengers all the necessary information on what is available to tourists in Alicante.
