Covid-19 information for our guests coming to Gran Alacant

UK residents

Adults and children aged 12 and over from the UK can enter Spain with a full vaccination certificate that proves the holder has received one of the European Medicine Agency authorised vaccines (Moderna, Pfizer, Janssen/Johnson & Johnson or AstraZeneca) at least 14 days before departure from the UK. See below for validity of vaccination certificates.

If you are unvaccinated you can now enter Spain by providing a negative Covid-19 test (PCR done in the previous 72 hours before departure or an antigen test taken in the previous 24 hours before arrival). Alternatively you can enter with a proof of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous six months. From 20 September 2022 you will no longer need to complete the health control form.

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, young people between the ages of 12 and 17 can enter Spain provided they can provide a negative PCR test taken in the previous 72 hours before arrival in Spain. Alternatively young people between the age of 12 and 17 can present a full vaccination certificate. Children under 12 years of age are exempt. There is no need to complete the health control form. You may be subject to a health check on arrival. There is no quarantine requirement when entering Spain from the UK. We strongly recommend that you check the UK government website and/or the Spanish government website for any updates.

EU residents

EU residents can enter Spain without the need to present a Covid vaccination certificate.

Vaccination certificates

Vaccination certificates will be accepted as valid provided that more than 14 days have passed since the date of the final dose of the full vaccination schedule (1 of 1 in the case of Janssen/Johnson & Johnson and 2 of 2 in the case of AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna) and that no more than 270 days have elapsed since the date of the final dose. After 270 days the vaccination certificate must show the administration of a booster dose. There is no requirement for 14 days to have passed between receiving your booster jab and entering Spain. Booster jabs can be administered at any time prior to travel to Spain.

Facemasks

From Wednesday 20 April 2022 it is mandatory to wear a facemask on public transport (including taxis), in pharmacies, medical centres, hospitals, dentists, opticians and care/nursing homes. There is no legal requirement to wear facemasks in any other settings although it is recommended by national and regional governments to do so. You should carry a facemask with you at all times and be prepared to wear it during your stay. Facemasks must cover the nose and mouth. While not mandatory, the use of facemasks on children between 3 and 5 years of age is recommended.

Travel Insurance

We strongly advise that you take out suitable travel insurance. You will be asked to confirm that you have travel insurance on your booking form. Some companies offer insurance for travel to countries which are deemed 'essential travel only.' 

Obtaining a Covid-19 test in Gran Alacant
