In early November EasyJet announced a venture to sell holidays with Lowcost Travel Group.
The aim is to sell 1.5 million holidays a year making it the third biggest player in the UK behind Thomas Cook and TUI. Today it has announced that customers booking holidays through this venture will not be protected through the Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL) scheme but through insurance.
EasyJet’s chief commercial officer Dana Dunne confirmed: “We will offer financial protection through insurance as we do now, and as is perfectly within the Package Travel Regulations we will provide exactly the same level of protection through insurance.”
EasyJet currently fly to Alicante from 12 European cities.
