Mabrouk El-Mechri’s new action thriller “The Cold Light of Day” starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver was set and filmed entirely in Spain. “Cold Light” was shot over ten weeks in the Community of Valencia and Madrid as well as several weeks on the stages at Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante and fixes on a young American whose family is kidnapped while holidaying in Spain. He then only has a certain amount of time to figure out the connection between his father’s secrets and his parent’s disappearance.
Filming In Alicante at Cuidad De La Luz Studios
Last year the Cuidad de la Luz Studios in Alicante made 11 feature films and 3 television series. Just two of the these productions alone brought 46 million Euros to the Alicante economy – The Cold Light of Day starring Bruce Willis that was shot on location in Javea as well as in Cuidad De La Luz, and The Impossible, starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, telling the story of the Asian Tsunami in 2004 which was filmed in Alicante in Aug 2010, before the production moved to Thailand in October 2010.
