Demand for flights from Switzerland to Spain have surged dramatically in the past few days and, as a result, Swiss airlines have increased the number of flights to the Iberian peninsula.
Switzerland’s Federal Office of Public Health removed Spain from the mandatory quarantine list with immediate effect on March 11th and in the week since the decision, demand for flights to the Iberian peninsula have skyrocketed.
According to Easyjet, enquiries about flights to Spain have increased by 150% since the announcement and Swiss airlines have responded to the increased demand by adding flights to several destinations in the region, including Alicante.
In the week ending March 29th, the number of flights from Switzerland to Spain with Swiss Air will increase from 34 to 43, with the number increasing from 48 to 59 in the following week.
