The Spanish Government have said this week that, during the first half of 2014, a record 28 million tourists travelled to Spain, with British and German holidaymakers leading the way.
Britons Help Spain With Tourist Record
The number of foreign visitors was up 7.3% year on year, when Spain set a new record for tourist arrivals. In addition, political unrest in other holiday destinations popular with European tourists such as Turkey and Egypt has helped boost the number of visitors holidaying in Spain.

British holidaymakers were top of the list, with 6.5 million holidaying in Spain from Jan-June 2014, up 5.8% from 2013. With tourism bring the one of the main pillars of Spain’s economy, this is a welcome relief to the country which is struggling after the collapse of the 10 year property boom in 2008.
